What this means for the end user:

Without the existence of a data exchange standard, the end user is lucky if it is even possible to import and export data from their flooring software. If they are provided with a method, and that method is compatible with the both source and destination, they are still faced with the frustration of saving a file in a directory folder, switching to the receiving software, finding the saved file and completing the import task.

The FSDE Standard changes this task to simply clicking a button, selecting the compatible software from a list, and the receiving application is automatically started and the data is imported.

The FSDE Standard allows software to be treated as modules, allowing the user to select the best components when building their business system.
